Getting StartedGetting Started on Internet Marketing Web Design

We are here to help you through every step.

From choosing and registering a domain, finding proper web site hosting, site development, through Internet marketing and maintenance.

Don't feel intimidated by the process. With Grant Communications, you are in control.

At any time, feel free to pick up the phone and call us to discuss your particular project or email us if you have an RFQ. The following list is an overview of how a typical project is initially organized, then executed.

Step 1
create the site map
Step 2
prepare the content

Step 1 The site map is the blue print of the site. What do we need? How many pages? What areas? Do we need forms, password protection or other functionalities.

Step 2 You can use the site map to help understand what content you need. Even if you have a site already, it is a good idea to review every page. Will you be needing a photo on a page or a graph? Something from Excel into a table?

Step 3
gather graphical assets
Step 4
fill out our order form

Step 3 Get all your photos, logos, graphs and other images together. We can not start a site without the logo. Higher resolution are better than lower resolution if possible. We have a list of guidelines for submitting graphics and is available in the link below.

Step 4 OK, you are ready to begin or maybe you need more help. We are here to assist you in any phase of the project. But first, you have to contact us! It's the first step in being your best!

Step 3
usability testing

One area that is becoming more of a "hot topic" is our experience in building navigation structures that will be consistent and survivable. With over 450 websites under our belt, we are constantly challenged in prioritizing and emphasizing navigational schems. For more complex sites, we also use an Excel spreadsheet that actually ties together relative importance of different topics, pages and themes. This can also reinforce the organic search engine marketing effort.
